Software Developer LEDAS Sets Second Consecutive Revenue Record

LEDAS cites increased Russian sales, attains revenue balance between worldwide and domestic markets

Novosibirsk, Russia: September, 3, 2012 – LEDAS Ltd., a leading provider of services for CAD/CAM/CAE/PDM market, today announced that its volume of projects and annual revenues set new records for the company for the second year in a row. The company last year significantly increased the scope of its services, leading to growth in both domestic and worldwide sales. Especially impressive was its growth in the Russian market, which increased by more than 100% over the same period last year.

“LEDAS for many years focused on the worldwide market, and so we made no special effort to win contracts at home in Russia,” says Alexey Ershov, CEO of LEDAS. “But with increased activity from Russian CAD vendors such as ASCON and Top Systems, together with a big government contract for the development of the new 3D modeling kernel, expanded our view. Our company at the same time landed major contracts with customers in western Europe and USA.”

The scope of the company’s current focus is characterized by projects such as these:

Russian Geometric Kernel (RGK) is a brand new software kernel for 3D modeling, and development is being financed by the Russian government. While comparable with Parasolid in functionality, RGK incorporates the kinds of novel features expected of next-generation kernels. LEDAS’s involvement in this prestigious project is to develop key components whose implementation requires advanced skills in mathematics and computer sciences.

JETCAM International is the market leader in aerospace and sheet metal industries for nesting and material lifecycle management software. JETCAM outsourced to LEDAS development and upgrades of its primary CAM products. In addition, LEDAS provides general support for JETCAM and CrossTrack software, and even developed advanced features on the request of two major JETCAM customers.

Bricsys NV engaged in a series of large software development contracts with LEDAS to enhance their Bricscad CAD software through direct modeling capabilities. In October 2011, Bricscad acquired the intellectual property rights from LEDAS for LGS 2D, LGS 3D, Driving Dimensions, RhinoWorks, and other original software well-known globally by the CAD industry. Bricsys has since signed an agreement with LEDAS to become the service provider and a reseller for these software products.

ASCON is the leading Russian CAD vendor, and in 2011 contracted LEDAS to develop the state-of-the-art variational direct modeling (VDM) technology for its KOMPAS-3D mechanical design system. Today, the VDM component is ready for the next release of ASCON’s flagship product. In addition, LEDAS operates as a value-added reseller for ASCON’s products, including the newly released C3D geometric kernel.
