ODA Adds Limited Family Creation to BimRv 2020u2Beta support for Revit not-hosted family creationScottsdale, AZ: February 10, 2020 – Open Design Alliance (ODA) announced today the release of BimRv SDK 2020 Update 2. BimRv is the leading stand-alone toolkit for interoperability with Autodesk® Revit® files.
“With BimRv 2020u2, ODA members can now create not-hosted Revit families from any application,” commented Neil Peterson, ODA President. “This is an important milestone towards our goal of full creation support for the entire Revit object model.”
Sergey Vishnevetsky, ODA Development Director, said, “Convenient access to the BIM model tree and object properties is now available through our new Common Data Access (CDA) API. CDA allows ODA members to easily create universal BIM viewers that support model and property inspection for a wide range of CAD and BIM formats.
“In addition, the latest BimRv release includes visualization support for section boxes and creation of terrain elements.”
BimRv 2020u2 contains other enhancements including room coloring for floor plans and a new module for access to rebar data, as well as fixes for member-reported issues. The SDK and full release notes are available for download at www.opendesign.com.
