ASCON and Cloud IT open SaaS model to CAD market
ASCON Group and Cloud IT are pleased to announce start of sales for Mechanical Computer-Aided Design software, KOMPAS-3D, as SaaS model (Software as a Service), currently on the territory of Russia and CIS countries.
The key benefits of CAD software to be acquired and used like this are:
- no need to install the software at customer work places,
- high productivity at any equipment,
- complete independence from any software platform,
- absolute mobility,
- opportunity to use just required applications in any quantity,
- considerable budget savings of IT costs at the enterprise,

Today SaaS market offers wide range of standard office applications, mail services, security solutions. Till now nobody neither in Russia, nor worldwide tried to present high-end and expensive software with cost not at hundreds, but at thousands dollars for a license like this. Although exactly such solutions, which requires a huge capacity and resources, are worth to be purchased as SaaS model.
The first breakthrough in a new segment of the market is made by young and ambitious company Cloud IT, acted as service provider, and by developer and integrator of professional MCAD solutions ASCON Group. The aim of cooperation is to develop a platform for access providing to computer-aided design systems according Saas model.
From IT specialist' point of view we don't offer anything unique all the technologies are well known. We just put them together and gave a new value for the customers. It was impossible yesterday to buy CAD for 2 month term for a temporary project, to install KOMPAS at PC with Linux and work with CAD data at iPad during your business trip. But now all this abilities come true, mentioned Oleg Zykov, ASCON Innovations Projects Manager.
ASCON products are deployed on a server capacity of Cloud IT, which will interact with users of the service. CEO of Cloud IT, Igor Gonebniy, comments conditions and perspectives of the cooperation: Our aim at the project provide the platform for software developer, support them with all the necesarry services, security and billing. At our capacity will be deployed more than ten different configurations of KOMPAS-3D and it will be possible to pay for them monthly.
From 1st October 2010 the service is available in Russia and CIS countries. The ability of purchase KOMPAS software as SaaS model for international users is coming soon.
