SIIS-2005 The Second Regional Forum "Siberian Industry of Information Systems" was held on March 10-12 in The House of Scientists. The objectives of the forum were officially announced as "to discuss and approve a strategy of formation of Siberian Center of National IT-industry and prospects for its extension up to the Euro-Asian IT-Center". Actually, it is about short-term plans to build a high-class IT business center to give offices for a lot of IT-companies, a number of University buildings to enable serious extension of capabilities for educating IT-specialists, apartment houses for young specialists, up-to-date hotel, and some other. Note that not only Russian government and regional administration are going to invest into the project but also some big companies, including Intel and Hewlett-Packard, that have strong strategic interest for working in Akademgorodok. |
